Situation

All of my content engines are reporting errors of the form shown below in their application.log:

70-Error: Memory allocation failure whilst loading nodetable fields (0 bytes)
70-Error: Node 868455. Failed to decompress buffer. Length 52799408 (read 52799408). Error Memory

I do not have valid backups to restore from. How can I resume using ControlPoint?

Cause

Windows updates were applied to the machines before the content engines had been gracefully shutdown leading to corruption.

Resolution

You can wipe the content engines and any IDOL remnants belonging to previous repositories created.

To do this:

Stop all ControlPoint services.

Change directory to Program Files\Micro Focus\ControlPoint\Indexer\Content\
