Situation

When the CM connector was rewritten it became necessary to copy some DLLs from one directory to another until CP was eventually updated in CP 5.9.4 to ship the updated connector.

So if you want to use CP 5.9, 5.9.1, 5.9.2 or 5.9.3 with CM 9.4, you will need to use the connector shipped with those versions of CP, install CM 9.4 Patch 4 (due to critical fixes it contains) and copy some DLLs. See below for further details.

Resolution

On CP box hosting CM connector

Install base CM 9.4 client (double click)
Install base CM 9.4 COM components (via Admin command prompt)

Install CM 9.4 Patch 4 Client (CM_Client_x64.msp - double click)
Install CM 9.4 Patch 4 COM components (CM_COMComponents_x64.msi via Admin command prompt)
