Situation

The customer is experiencing performance issues, which could be attributed to outdated database indexes that have not been rebuilt for some time.

Resolution

Rebuilding indexes should only be necessary if they have become fragmented. This task typically falls under the responsibility of the DBA team. To address this, they can set up a weekly task that monitors index health and automatically rebuilds or reorganizes any indexes that show signs of fragmentation.
