Customer need

We frequently hear from customers who, as authorized Connected Backup Technicians, need to retrieve substantial volumes of data from one or many end user accounts without the involvement or cooperation of the end user.

Connected Backup SaaS customer typically do not find that ordering media via Support Center or AMWS  is a scalable or timely answer to this requirement due.

To enable secure and scalable adinistrative access to Connected data, we introduced the Bulk Data Retrieval Tool (BDRT)

Solution

Using the Bulk Data Retrieve Tool, you can retrieve backed up files from multiple Micro Focus Connected Backup accounts autonomously. The BDRT reads a CSV file to determine the accounts and specific files you want to retrieve.

A Connected Backup PC Agent is silently installed on the local machine and retrieves the necessary files. The BDRT retrieves the tip version of all files according to a date that you define. The retrieved files are placed in a network fileshare, or local folder location  that you define, organized by account. When retrieval is completed, the Agent is automatically uninstalled.

Many of our customers have found BDRT to be extremely valuable in helping them to respond to end user requests for assisted recovery, as well as business requests for backup data to support eDiscovery and compliance efforts.

Connected Backup licensed software customers may download BDRT along with their data center software.    Connected Backup SaaS customers should contact support for BDRT software availability.

Please see the attached documentation for more information.

Thanks!
