In the Properties page of a Backup to Disk device, it's possible to specify a Client ID and Password in the "Store and Gateways" tab.
The terminology may be confusing here. The "Client ID" is not related to any Data Protector client name or any system name at all. It's only referring to a configured "client" on the StoreOnce system and could be any name as configured on the StoreOnce system.
The above is where the "Client" name is getting configured first of all. Next, this configured "client" can be used to configure access permissions per store.
Note that "All Clients" needs to be disabled to configure a specific "client". Also, the overall "Client Access Permission Checking" needs to be enabled in the overall StoreOnce Catalyst Settings.
When all this is configured on the StoreOnce system side, the Client ID and Password will be required on the Data Protector side to be able to access the store.
