By default the services will run as Administrator or Local System account. Here are some requirements in case a specific service account is created to run the DP services.

The basic User Rights Assignments:

• Log on as a service
• Take ownership of files or other objects
• Back up files and directories
• Restore files and directories

Also required:

• Full control over Registry key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard\OpenView\OmniBackII
• Full control over the Data protector ProgramData folder and Data protector Home Folder, including sub folders
• The account is member of the DP Admin Group
