Support Tip: StoreOnce Software: Do not delete s.dirty

With our new Deduplication store in the latest versions of Data Protector, the StoreOnce Software store may not be used that often anymore. However, if you are using it, please take note of the following. There will be a file called s.dirty for every running store in the following directory (path shown for Windows):

<STORE_ROOT>\StoreOncelibrary\dvol_0000000X\committed\storemgr\store.d\store_0X

Where X is the StoreID.

This is normal and the file should never be removed. When the store is stopped in a normal way, the file will be removed automatically. When the store was interrupted (not normally stopped) the file will still be there. Do not delete it. It is an indication the store was not normally stopped and the file will be checked at the following startup attempt of the store.
