Report about the configuration from Data Protector

Hello everybody

I am really new working with data protector. I have been searching forum about my question, however I have not found the answer.

I need a particular report of the configuration of my specs. I mean, I want a regular report maybe every Friday where I can see the actual confioguration. I need to know

Specification
Session type
Group
Next run
Mode
Retention

Is it possible to get this report from Data Protector? I don't need information about how the backups have been performed, many reports talk about this, I need to know about the configuration to check in a simple way how my environment is.

Best Regards

Josuham

    Hello

You can get all those data except retention using command "omnirpt -report dl_sched". As far as I know retention just can be get for sessions already done because it can be overwritten later or device retention can be different, otherwise just can check retention as soon session is done.

    Hello Jose Maria,

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

As far as I can see, I can't get the retention before the backup is run, it's a pity.
I would like to get this information before the backups are run as a method to check that my configuration is correct. If by chance I have an error in a scepification that should have a retention X and has a Z I can correct it before startup and not have to be checking this information afterwards and correcting it if not.

Is there no report that gives me this configuration information?

    Thank you very much
    Best regards

    Hi

As far as I know is not possible, as I said protection is set during backup and backup protection can be overwritten for device protection  therefore just is possible check it when backup has finished. You can use some omnrpt commands for to check it but not in combination with the rest of information that you want.
