In late February, software experts from universities and colleges across Europe gathered at the East Bavarian Technical University - Amberg-Weiden in Germany for a one-week user conference. The event kicked off with two days of hands-on workshops followed by five days of technical sessions.
The conference focused on the importance of information and communication networks in fulfilling the many functions of educational institutions, such as mobile data access, student identity verification, and secure data exchange. The TTP EMEA conference provided an excellent opportunity to exchange technical information and best practices between members for mutual benefit., and to share successes and failures, so others can learn from those experiences.
Attendees included approximately 90 IT experts from universities and colleges worldwide, partners, as well as developers from OpenText India.
Markus Meißner, system administrator at OTH Amberg-Weiden, highlighted the value of direct and personal exchange between users of educational institutions and developers. As a co-organizer of the conference from OTH Amberg-Weiden's side, he emphasized that the annual meetings provide an excellent opportunity for participants to learn from each other's experiences and problems, find new ideas and solutions together, and establish personal friendships.
The conference included in-depth technical workshops and lectures on current topics such as identity management, endpoint user management, data governance and many more. The open discussions in round table sessions and a varied social program, which included a city tour of Weiden, a visit to the Basaltkegel in Parkstein, and a bowling night, made the week pass quickly.
To enable participation for all interested parties, the conference was held in a hybrid format. Approximately 250 participants attended the conference virtually, with guests from 46 different nations in total. All sessions have been recorded and will be available also on our Technical Insight page soon.
The conference was organized by Technology Transfer Partners (TTP), an international group of individuals from educational and research institutions who use OpenText solutions in their workplace. TTP members have considerable input into the OpenText software development process, sharing their knowledge, ideas, and feedback with the product teams. The self-help community from diverse computing environments aims to support and share knowledge for the benefit of all members.
