Using UFT One to automated tests on a virtual desktop

I was trying to automate some tests for an application, however to access this application I needed to logon to the virtual desktop via Citix.

I noticed that UFT One would not work on the virtual desktop.

I read that in order to make UFT One work I would need to install IFT One on the virtual desk and the start automating.

Is this the only way? Is there anything else I can do as the virtual desktop bongs to a third party.
