Looking for suggestions to add feature traceability in details tab

Whenever there is a bugfix, we would like to have the 'caused by' feature to be linked mandatorily for quality purposes. For this, we are trying to add the 'Trace From' option available under the 'Relations' tab into the 'Details' tab. However, this is not available. Is there any available fields which could be used for this purpose? Please guide me, I'm a new admin.

    Hi

You can link every Defect to a Feature:

Thank you for the reply Ehud Michelson. I'm aware of this option but want to know if the 'Trace From' feature can be linked in the details tab itself directly.

No, the Trace From/To relations appear only in the Relations tab, not in the Details tab. If you think it would be helpful to have them in the Details tab as well, I suggest posting a new idea (or checking for an existing one and voting for it) in the Idea Exchange section of this community.

That said, I feel like I might have missed something. If you have the option to link the Defect to a Feature using the system field, why would you want to use the Trace From/To relation instead?

Thanks again for the reply and suggestion Ehud. The reason we are looking forward to the 'Trace From' and 'Trace To' in the feature is cos, not all the bugfixes are triggered cos of a defect which was detected. Some bugfixes origin due to an incident or a problem ticket. In such cases, we don't add defects. We link the incident but the reason for the incident could have been a change which was implemented in the past. This we are trying to link to the feature directly. Since, currently this option is available in the Relations tab, the implementor forgets to add this and there is no way that we could make it a mandatory field also. If we are able to add this as a field inside the main form, we can also make it a mandate. That's the whole idea.

OK, I understand. In that case, I suggest posting a new idea in the Idea Exchange section. R&D regularly monitors this section and adds the most voted ideas to the product backlog.

Thank you. Already running through the existing Ideas to see if someone had a similar request. If none, I would raise the same soon.
