Difference between Release manager & Deployment automation

Dear all,
I have a simple question :
Reading the marketing materials of release manager reminds me a lot about deployment automation can do. Is release manager making use of deployment automation or it has in built functionalities that do the equivalent things when coming to deployment ?

    Hey Konrad – Release Management is the combination of Serena Release Control (RLC) and Serena Deployment Automation (SDA). Each work together as complete solution or can be implemented separately.

    Serena Release Control handles the governance of your release process.

    It allows you to plan your releases by timeframe (e.g. Quarter) or features (e.g themes); obtain approvals from different departments (e.g. Exec, QA, Dev); and provide traceability to requirements
