How to visualize Power BI Dashboards into PPM Dashboards.

1. First on power BI you need to go to the report you want to share and click on File > Embed

Then copy the URL you get on the page.

After that, on PPM you can go to Open > Administration > Portlet Definitions > Import Portlet Definitons
Choose Java Portlet and Click Next.

Check the URL Portlet and Click Next
Fill in the required information and Finish.
Now, please go to Dashboard > Personalize Dashboard.
Add a new page

Then add a new URL Portlet on the new page

10. Edit the portlet.

11. Add the URL from Power BI to the corresponding field in your dashboard.

13. Then save.

14. Finally you can add this page to your dashboard.

IMPORTANT

You need to edit the Server.conf parameter “CONTENT_SECURITY_POLICY” to allow iframe to the PowerBI web site. Hi,

I'm using a URL Portlet to visualize a Power BI dashboard in PPM but I need to send the connected user as a filter so the Power BI dashboard only shows projects that belongs to that user. I have achieved to send fix filter like this:

app.powerbi.com/reportEmbed eq '1'

With this I get projects whose project manager is 1 (admin user), but If I use the token [SYS.USER_ID] it seems that the token is not resolved by PPM:

app.powerbi.com/reportEmbed eq '[SYS.USER_ID]'

Does anybody know how to make PPM to resolve token in a URL Portlet?

I don't think you can publish on the web with PowerBI desktop, you need the PowerBI Service to share your dashboards.

What version of Power BI is used for this example?
I am new to the tool, but I have Power BI Desktop v.2.76 and I do not find an 'Embed' option under File...?
