What's missing in asking for the report to be included as attachment when submitting the report? Sounds to me like it's exactly what you're asking for.

this option only  gives the link to the report. WHat we are looking is to have word document of the report attached as an attachment in the email.

I think you're mistaken. This option will include the generated report as a file attachment in the email notification. See below screen shot of a JSP sync report that I'm running daily for a sync in our PPM internal instance, you can see the report result attached in the email.

If your report is a JSP report generating an HTML file, the HTML will be attached to the email. If you have an Excel report, Word Report or PowerPoint report, the corresponding generated office file will be attached to the email.

Have you looked into your email server possibly removing attachments as part of security measure? That would be quite surprising with office document attachments, but maybe there's something to be configured on your side to preserver attachments in emails sent by PPM notifications.

OOTB and other reports that out put in form of html page do get emailed. However, any report that gets printed as .doc or .pdf does not get emailed out.

Can you please guide if there is anything that needs to be configured or the email notification ootb only works for .html reports and not the others

There must be a problem with your reports or with your email server, I just ran an Excel report and a PowerPoint report, and the generated files (XLSX or, in the case of screenshot below, PPTX) are attached to the email notifications.

When you search your reports in PPM, when you click on the report search result link, will it immediately download the word/pdf documents? If not, your report is not correctly designed. The report must return the file itself for it to be attached to the email notification.

You should also check with your IT team if your company email server doesn't automatically remove office file attachments from emails sent by PPM SaaS notifications.

yes when we click on the report in the report search result it does download the file. I will check with the IT team to ensure there are no filters that are blocking the file from being sent over. but i think that should not be the case if the .html file comes over.
