Oracle Monitor against 12C/19C: "ORA-01017: invalid username/password"

LoadRunner Professional 12.6x, 202x

Situation
When adding Oracle Monitor against 12C/19C with Controller 12.6/202x, it throws out "ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied"




Resolution
+ On the Oracle Server, please modify this file: oracle/network/admin/sqlnet.ora
and add this line: SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION=8
Or
SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_CLIENT = 8
SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_SERVER = 8



+ Go to Services.msc and restart the "OracleServiceXXXX" (i.e: OracleServiceORCL)
+ Reset the passwords of the Oracle account to the same strings -- after the above change
