VU gen freezing truclient

Question

Hello after finally getting LoadRunner 24.1 to download, my colleagues and I tried to run a test script using TruClient web browser but when we click 'develop script' VUGen hangs and won't load until we're forced to close it down. It's happening on 3 different machines and we all installed LoadRunner this week without ever having prior LR installs.

Are A) Developing a New script or B) Opening an existing script for updating? Double-check your system with LR Detect and compare it to the admhelp.microfocus.com/documents/lr/System_Requirements/24.1/LR_System_Requirements.htm to ensure your system has the CPU/RAM etc in line. >> Are you a local Admin to perform the Installs? If not, you'll have to re-Install as a member of the Administrators group Also, UAC and DEP are known to interfere with TruClient script. I know the primary documentation says you can have it enabled, but in practice it interferes with LoadRunner operation. so that may be contributing. It's listed on Known issues (microfocus.com) so OT is obviously aware of it. Also in practice, If your ability to Record is impacted, your ability to Replay may be impacted.

Web scripts and DEP 
 
 When recording a Web-based protocol script, the recording may fail in certain installations, if Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is enabled. 
 Resolution: Disable DEP on your VuGen machine. For details, see Record a Vuser Script in the Virtual User Generator Help Center (select the relevant version).

Also, the LoadRunner using TC protocol requires the following in User Rights Assignment:

Permission

Create global object

Batch logon rights

Service logon rights

Access this computer from the network

Log on locally

Impersonate a client after authentication

Replace a process level token

Act as part of Operating system

Many organizations have Group Policy Objects(GPO) and in this case, you'd need to get exceptions from your Sec or Ops team for your LR systems.
