Can not add perfomance center load generators

Hi all,

I currently have a problem that every time I try to add new performance load generators ( windows machine ) I constantly get error's ("Host unreachable "). I have installed load generator's from cummunity edition and set it for Performance center. I have also asked that ports between performance server and load generator be passed based on following :

Standalone Load Generator---------------TCP (5001, 5002, 5003, 54245, 54345)  and

Performance Center Host------------------HTTP (8731)TCP (3333, 5001, 5002, 5003, 54245, 54345)

After I contacted server admin has send me listetning ports table in which I can not see that server is listening on ports 5001, 5002,5003 and 54345. When I try to connect from load generator I got error that connection is not possible on those ports. But firewall admin claims that everything is passed and says that message on firewall is incomplete ( which meand that server is not listening ).

Does anyone knows where is problem with this listening ports ?

Regards,

Krešimir

    Hi,

Where did you read about 5001/2/3? These ports are not required as far as I know.

The required ports are 54245, 54345. You will fail adding the Load Generator or a PC Host if both are not opened for incoming requests.

From the info you have provided below it sounds like 54245 is not opened.

54245 is used by Remote Management service for supporting remote reboot, kill process, patch installation from the admin site

54345 is used for invoking the processes that will run the Vusers as well as for Vusers data collection for the Analysis application

    Hi Shlomi,

You were right as always Grin. I have read about 5001-5003 ports on eyes on testing site, but this time actual problem was firewall rule on load generators which was enabled last week by group policy. Unfortunatly I am not in control of such updates.
