Dedicated IP Distribution

Hello,

I'm running into some issues while trying to run scripts on Cloud Generators using dedicated IP's.  I have multiple scripts that hit the same URL(not run a t the same time), one script will have upwards of 40 users at a time and use only 1 of 10 available Dedicated IPs.  Then another script which will have 1 or 2 users, will use 2 of the 10 Dedicated IPs.  Does anyone know what may cause issues like this? Is there a way to allocate which IPs we want used during a load test?

I'd preferably like to distribute multiple users to different IPs to properly test loads instead of 40 being on 1, which is causing issues

Thanks!

Please consider submitting a service request and copy the case ID here, I will then try to interact with you directly.

Generally speaking, by default, each CLG (Cloud LG) is provisioned with a single IP Address. You want to check the Run Preview option to determine the number of CLGs that will be provisioned for your test and how the scripts are mapped to these CLGs. You may also want to check the feature Multiple IPs (search the online help), it will allow you to run up to 15 IPs per each CLG on AWS. Lastly, if you enable Multiple IPs, since it sounds like you have to use Dedicated IPs (?), then you want to make sure you will have enough Dedicated IPs for tests that run with Multiple IPs enabled. Since they are multiple factors, suggest taking the rest via direct interaction. Good luck.
