Knowledge Doc: Preventing License Release and Latency in Long-Running UFT Script Scenarios

UFT One sends a heartbeat to the AutoPass license server based on the server’s configuration. When a script is running but not interacting with the GUI or performing actions that trigger UFT events, the license server may interpret this as inactivity, causing the license to be released even though the script is still active. As a result, latency can occur if the AutoPass license server waits for a license renewal and does not receive it in time.

Environment

UFT 24.2

Situation

During a routine UFT test run, if the script is active but does not interact with the GUI or perform actions that trigger UFT events, the license server may interpret this as inactivity and release the license, even though the script is still running. This can lead to perceived latency if the AutoPass license server waits for a license renewal and does not receive it in time.

Cause

When a UFT script is running but does not interact with the GUI or trigger UFT events, the license server may interpret this as inactivity and release the license.
