Should be able to Delete connections or Deactivate

Status: Delivered

In the UI, connections can be grouped and they can be renamed.
This also facilitates a way to "disable" connections by assigning such connections to  a "disabled" connections group.
The same is possible for data sources.
This was introduced with Connect 24.1, 24.1.1 and 24.2.
With 25.1, connections can receive a custom descriptive text, for example to explain their purpose or to further clarify that they are legacy and disabled.

Via batch utility, it is possible to fully delete any connection, including expunging all associated cross-references.
Caution is strongly recommended to not expunge cross-references that might be needed later on, again (reason why full delete is not available in UI).

See status update history

Not possible to delete connections which have run - should be able to deactivate and activate

Once a connection has been deactivated it should be possible to delete it

it's a risk having old connections which should NOT be run - because it's not possible to rename them either:(

  • Hah-  yes, which is unfortunately typical of MF enhancements; 90% implemented, 50% useful.

Which reminds me, I need to add an ER to get some useful User features in Connect.  I don't follow the purpose of users if all of them can view/access all available connections.  Certain users may not need to know the business of other connections.
