ALM Integration with ServiceNow

Hi All,

I see that it is possible to integrate ALM with ServiceNow using Micro Focus Connect and the Connectors (links below). Has anyone done this integration? I am very interested to understand how the two tools integrate, and whether or not it is a one way integration or bidirectional? Is it safe to assume on the ALM side the integration is centered around the Defects module, and it talks to ServiceNow by creating / modifying Incident and / Request tickets in ServiceNow? For anyone that has successfully established this integration, what lessons learned can you share? Any information that anyone can share on how these two tools can be integrated would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Mark,

    Yes, it is possible to integrate Alm/Qc to ServiceNOW using MF Connect.

    We have about a half dozen customers doing so.

    The product supports uni and bi directional synchronization between end points, projects, types, down to indivdual fields.

    The choice of the direction of integration at any level is left up to you, the customer (& configure-r) of the connection.

    MF Connect is a hub spoke model system.

    The Hub is the core connect engine (service)

    The spokes are the individual connectors.

    There is absolutely no hard wired integration between Alm/Qc and ServiceNOW. Or any other connectors for that matter,

    For the record, we support synchronization between Alm/Qc, Octane, Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNOW, Rally and VersionOne.

    The Alm/Qc connector exposes the majority of Alm/Qc surfaced types (on a per project / per domain basis) except for Alm/Qc Test Runs & Test Steps, which we do not yet support.

    The ServiceNOW connector exposes the majority of selectable ServiceNOW types.

    Again, it is up to you to decide what types you want to synchronize between Alm/Qc to and from ServiceNOW.

    The decision will ultimately rest upon your business requirements and use cases.

    Thanks! I appreciate the response from a MF R&D perspective. I would love to hear back from some of your customers that are using this integration between ALM/QC and ServiceNow to better understand how they are integrating the two tools, especially if any of those customers are healthcare companies. Hopefully some customers that are using the integration will respond to this post and be able to provide greater insight. Thanks again!
