Borland Connect , Git , Starteam repository migration question

Hello,

Has anyone ever migrated a starteam repository into a GIT repository including all the history? If so I am interested in knowing how. Currently using Borland connect and Git. Thank you in advance

We are actively working on developing a bridge between StarTeam and GIT.
We plan to support the full set of Git Operation, including pull, push, fetch and clone.
and hope to have a product release launch before the year end.

Would you care to elaborate on the types of problems you need to solve?

Hi - Can you explain what the difference is between this bridge being development and the current Borland Connect Git Connector?

Hi Ben,
The bridge being developed is a client side GIT extension. (a .jar with a git flavored command line interface)
as a GIT afficionado / developer, you can work entirely in a local GIT repository.
and treat StarTeam as the equivalent of a remote (GIT) repository.
You may start by cloning a StarTeam view to your local machine as a GIT repository.
At your convenience you can pull (catch up with) changes from StarTeam,
and/or push your changes as a commit to StarTeam.

On the other hand, as you are aware, the Borland Connect Framework synchronizes changes between StarTeam & GIT (or other SCM systems) in near real time.

Hi Valentina,

We do have a GIT remote helper that can be run from the CPC install.

It behaves in exactly the way that has been described by this thread, albeit 3 years ago.

The git helper allows you to treat the starteam server as the equivalent of a git remote repository. so you can merge from your local git workspace directly to starteam in both directions.

if necessary, we can schedule a meeting between you and our git development engineer.

We need to migrate the Starteam 2005 R2 repositories to bitbucket Cloud.Can you please guide us or if possible schedule a call with us to help and support.
