BPT, QTP, and ALM

Pardon my ignorance, but I am inquiring about BPT and using it with QTP. In order to do this, do I need to use ALM as well?

    You can't use BPT without alm first because ypou can't save de bpcs (business process components) locally, only in alm server and second because in my opinion, if you do not have the suport of the the manual test where they will write the process and create a documentation of the process before you can automate it, it's not viable to use.
