We are happy to present to you LoadRunner Enterprise 2023 R1, which was just released!

by   in DevOps Cloud

This release includes a detailed attention to security, customer enhancements, integrations, and lots of core and protocol improvements. We are dedicated to addressing the needs of our customers, providing the latest technologies, and continuing to lead the market in the Performance Engineering segment.

With our continuous focus on modernization, we improved our database technologies. On the Data and Analytics side, we moved the database for storing online and offline messages from Microsoft Access to SQLite, for faster access and higher security.

For a better hosts management, we display the hosts installation version for all Windows host types in LoadRunner Enterprise Administration and Site Management.

To simplify the jobs of the application managers, we enhanced the management and usage of SSL certificates. Now, it is easier than ever to import SSL certificates to other LoadRunner Enterprise hosts and servers in the environment using the LoadRunner Certificate Manager.

Our development investment also goes constantly into Kubernetes to reduce the total cost of ownership for our customers. In this release we added support for EKS, together with AKS for SaaS managed K8s. Now there is an option to configure the Kubernetes probes like StartupProbe, LivenessProbe and ReadinessProbe. This allows you to perform health checks on Kubernetes applications and containers to check if the application is started, if a container is operating, or if the application is ready to accept requests. For hardening cluster accessibility to the API server and for higher security policies, there is the possibility to opt out of automounting API credentials for a service account by setting automountServiceAccountToken to false on the ServiceAccount.

For integrations and ecosystem, we’ve continued to listen to our customers, and in this release, have added the REST API to unassign a user specified by ID from a specific project, which allows easier user management per project during the CI/CD process.

For the ongoing process of modernization, we keep updating our software with the latest technology. This time we have an updated Runtime Settings user interface in use in LoadRunner products for many of the protocols. The new UI provides a modernized look and feel, and more streamlined functionality.

Addressing security is our permanent goal for each release. Now the installation of Gatling and JMeter is optional for on-premises load generators on Windows and Linux and for Dockerized Load Generators on Linux for enhanced security management. Being customer focused, we listened and removed the change and reset password option for users logging into LoadRunner Enterprise from LDAP and SSO.

Following our customers’ ideas on the Idea Exchange portal, we added support for VTS on LDAPS connection to the domain controller for NTLM authentication.

As usual, you will see plenty of protocol updates on TruClient, SAP GUI, and Web-HTTP/HTML. What makes us leaders in the market is innovation, and with this release we are glad to introduce the new Cloud for AWS protocol. With this new protocol, you can create Vuser scripts to monitor the usage of Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS).

Finally, LoadRunner Developer and DevWeb also include many enhancements following your feedback for better adoption and usage.

At OpenText we are customer centric. We invite you to continue submitting your ideas for the product on the LoadRunner Enterprise Idea Exchange page. We value your feedback and take it into consideration!
