OpenText ValueEdge Functional Test is now OpenText Core Software Delivery Functional Testing!
The OpenText functional testing team is proud to announce OpenText Core Software Delivery Functional Testing CE 24.4, the latest version of our comprehensive, AI-powered, cloud-based functional testing add-on. Aside from its new name, this release is packed with enhancements designed to improve the efficiency and capabilities of object identification, parameterization, and script execution.
So, what’s new in OpenText Core Software Delivery Functional Testing?
Design enhancements
- Object identification: Describe objects by their proximity to others when inspecting an object in an application. Add a Related object to describe the object uniquely if there are multiple similar objects in the application.
- Parameterizing steps: Use parameters for an object's identification text or for the step's input value when creating a step during inspection.
- Association: Associate a script with an existing codeless test or unit.
- Verify steps: Verify the status of a checkbox, radio button, or toggle. Create 'Verify value of' steps during inspection. Previously, this was supported only in the editor and the step editing pane.
- Automatic scrolling: Turn automatic scrolling on for specific steps in the step settings as it is off by default for Verify and If steps.
- End of script run: Specify that the application being tested will remain open at the end of the run when running your script in Functional Testing Design.
Execution enhancements
- Storage for Selenium Test JAR files: Store Selenium test JAR files directly in Execution’s storage.
- Selenium framework: Create a new Selenium TestNG cloud runner, enhancing your testing framework options.
Digital lab enhancements
- Video recording: Enable video recording for manual, Appium, and Selenium tests by adding the video capability to your script. Ensure video recording is activated in the Administration settings for seamless integration.
- Test results: Access the Results tab to view metadata of test sessions and download videos and logs of past tests, enhancing your ability to analyze and improve testing processes.
- iOS 17 and later: Broaden compatibility across different environments with support for iOS 17 and later on RHEL connectors, and iOS 17.4 and later on Windows connectors.
- IPv6 support: Ensure compatibility with modern network configurations with support for environments using IPv6 addresses.
- New versions support: Test on iOS 18 and Android 15, with the embedded Appium v2 server upgraded to version 2.11.3. The server and connector can now also be installed on RHEL version 9.4 and Ubuntu version 24.04.
