Introducing the new OpenText™︎ LoadRunner™︎ Enterprise CE 24.3: Powering Up Performance Testing!

by   in DevOps Cloud

We are thrilled to announce the latest release of OpenText LoadRunner Enterprise CE 24.3. This release is packed with new features and improvements designed to enhance your performance testing experience and keep our position as market leader. Let’s dive into the details!

LoadRunner TruClient 2.0 (technical preview)

This new protocol is the evolution of TruClient for browser driven testing and it reduces the need for complex scripting. With TruClient 2.0, you can accurately track end-user experience and metrics, and you don’t need to wait on us to release updates, since this protocol is browser decoupled. You can still use your choice of browser and satisfy any security requirements. TruClient 2.0 is fully cross platform with Linux support which helps you to reduce your footprint andyour TCO by reducing managed infrastructure. Of course, we know you still use TruClient 1.0, so please note that we created a migration utility to re-use those assets.

Protocols and infrastructure

For the Web protocol we introduced the Chrome Extension for web recording integration.

Enhancements include, 64bit replay support, support for CNG Certificate format, and IP Selecting strategy in Recording. For infrastructure we invested in VTS reverse proxy forwarding by application name.

On the protocols level, we introduced another new protocol to support financial transactions that use the ISO 8583 protocol (ATMs and POS). Users can also enjoy Oracle® Web Correlation updates, Oracle® 12C support, and SAP® GUI version 8 support (32 and 64 bit).

GitLab Runner plugin

In our continuous effort to integrate with the tools you love, we’ve added a GitLab Runner plugin. This plugin allows you to execute performance tests directly in your CI/CD pipelines and retrieve the results and the trend reports. Ensure the performance of your applications at every stage of your development cycle.

GitHub Actions plugin

We’ve also introduced a GitHub Actions plugin. With this plugin, you can run performance tests as part of your GitHub Actions workflows. This integration brings performance testing closer to your code, enabling you to catch and address performance issues early in the development process

AppDynamicsTm SaaS monitor

We’ve added an AppDynamicsTm SaaS monitor that uses an access token instead of password authentication. This feature allows you to monitor the performance of your applications in AppDynamicsTm directly from LoadRunner Enterprise. This integration gives you a comprehensive view of your application’s performance, helping you identify and resolve issues faster

Modernized online dashboard (technical preview)

We’ve modernized our online dashboard using the new ApacheTm ECharts library and the latest Angular framework. This tech-preview feature provides a more interactive and intuitive interface for monitoring your performance tests. The new dashboard offers real-time insights to help you make informed decisions quickly. To enable this feature, please check the documentation.

Accessibility improvements

Accessibility is a priority for us. In this release, we’ve made several accessibility improvements to ensure that LoadRunner Enterprise is user-friendly for everyone

IPv6 support for monitors, analysis servers, and database server configuration

In our commitment to staying ahead of technological advancements and meeting the evolving needs of our users, we’ve updated our IPv6 format support for several components of LoadRunner Enterprise. This feature extends to our monitors, analysis servers, and database server configuration. With this update, these components can now support both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. This means you can now configure and monitor your performance tests in environments that use IPv6 addressing.

We can’t wait for you to try out these new features and improvements. We’re committed to continuously enhancing OpenText LoadRunner Enterprise to meet your performance testing needs. Stay tuned for more updates!
