Knowledge Document: Vertica Primary Cluster Node Randomly Goes Down

This article provides information on why Vertica node went down and how to resolve the issue.

Environment:

Vertica Analytic Database 12.0.4-10

Situation:

One of the Vertica cluster nodes goes down all the time. Please provide the root cause analysis for the issue.

Cause:

Node 01 went down since OS killed the Vertica processes abruptly. 

Killing process 60745 (spread) with signal SIGTERM.
Killing process 60747 (vertica) with signal SIGTERM.
Killing process 60787 (vertica-udx-zyg) with signal SIGTERM.
