Some clarifications are provided some of the files that may be found inside of the agentdata folder/directory of a SmartConnector

Environment

ArcSight SmartConnector (Connector) 8.X.X

Situation

There is a confusion about the meaning of some of the files that are present in the "<SC_Install_Path>/current/user/agent/agentdata" directory (Linux) or "<SC_Install_Path>\current\user\agent\agentdata" folder (Windows) of a Connector.

  • the agentdata folder holds the connector's caching and queuing logs/data that is pending to be received(processed) or sent to destinations. the filenames will have "queue" or "cache" to reflect that. You can purge all these info (delete all the files in the agentdata dir) if you don't need them anymore. Sometimes it is necessary to do that to successfully upgrade a connector when the size get simply too large to upgrade successfully.
