When creating a new Cluster... which FQDN (mangement or service)

I'm building up a new cluster... I'm not sure when I'm asked about hostnames/FQDNs, which one provide....

My appliances have two IPs and two FQDNs.... one for service and another for management.

xxxxx.mgmt.com.company

xxxxx.serv.com.company

Which one should I provide at the moment of building a new site, and register a new server to the cluster... This is not mentined in the documentation.

Thanks

    Hello,

If you run 'ip route list' on the appliance, then it should be the default IP that you should use to connect the server to the cluster.

    Thanks.

    Hi Daniel,

I've been asking around internally but there is not a definite opinion on this.

How is this appliance protected exactly? I mean, there are some security considerations depending on how this is configured. For example, the fact that you can get to /admin from the same, public, interface would be a problem. Usually this appliance is set behind NAM to prevent outside access. Also, ideally, the admin UI doesn’t even exist on boxes that would be in a DMZ.

So the answer is, it depends on your network/security configuration.

    Thanks.
