Situation

In order to resolve the error "The Network name cannot be found / CODE: 0x43 / An error occurred while trying to open the policy." you enabled the symbolic link on PDC. This can have an impact regarding the backup of AD estate (i.e.: not able to perform backup).

Cause

For the console OS to enumerate the target path correctly, you have to configure the symbolic link. Each managed domain requires a Symbolic Link File system object created on the PDC for that domain configured via the Managed domain properties of GPA. The symbolic link or Junction point will have for target GPA Console GPOSMANAGEDBYGPA share path. If this link is not on the DC, MS GPMC SDK will fail upon opening the GPO Container object.
