CG for Windows ver 4

Some one from NetIQ told me that CG for Windows version 4 is almost
ready to release and will be an independent product(ver 3 requires
Security Manager)

any one here can please update me about CG for Windows ver 4

This is correct. Change Guardian for Windows 4.0 does not require
Security Manager. The basic Change Guardian server embeds SM-like
functionality using a modified version of NetIQ Sentinel. There will be
a traditional installer as well as software appliance formats that run
on VMware, Novell Xen, standard hypervisors, or bare metal - you
choose.

If you want full SIEM functionality, including the ability to integrate
Change Guardian data with other data sources (firewalls, antivirus,
application logs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, etc.), perform
sophisticated correlation and anomaly detection, etc., you also have the
option of integrating Change Guardian with a (separately licensed)
standalone instance of Sentinel.

The company has announced that Change Guardian 4.0 will be available in
early April.

FYI, Change Guardian 4.0 was released on April 5, 2013.
