Change Guardian does not currently support calculating file differences
on binary file formats because each file type requires a custom
interpretation. This is something that has come up as an enhancement
request for some of the more popular file types like Word and Open
Office.

With regard to File System policies (monitoring for write, read,
permission changes, etc...), typically the monitoring policy can be
modified to either include or exclude noise generated by application
specific features (such as autosave in Word) that obscure the underlying
file access through the use of temporary files.
