Change Guardian Windows and Active Directory Differences

I am looking for what's the difference between Change Guardian Windows
and Active Directory.

For example: if I want to generate report of AD users login after hours.

Do you require CG Windows or CG AD for this?

Hope to get some pointers from members here. Thanks.
