Situation

eDirectory objects with BaseClass “Unknown” were identified either in iMonitor or through an LDAP tool.

Cause

When an object in eDirectory shows “Unknown” for its base class, it typically indicates that the object has lost its original class information. This can happen due to various reasons, such as:

If an object was deleted and then recreated, and other objects still reference the old object, those references can become invalid, leading to the “Unknown” class issue.
Schema Issues: Problems with the eDirectory schema can also cause objects to lose their class information.
