eDirectory Services start with after restore server

Hi Team.

After restore a snapshot from server and restar the O.S the nds services start with errors.

We try to start using

 systemctl start ndsdtmpl-etc-opt-novell-eDirectory-conf-nds.conf@-etc-opt-novell-eDirectory-conf-env.service

and when check status

 systemctl status ndsdtmpl-etc-opt-novell-eDirectory-conf-nds.conf@-etc-opt-novell-eDirectory-conf-env.service

Show

Nov 21 10:33:14 TMP309 post_ndsd_start_factory[415553]: NetIQ eDirectory LDAP Server is not listening on the TCP port.
Nov 21 10:33:45 TMP309 post_ndsd_start_factory[415553]: NetIQ eDirectory LDAP services are not running.

And the port not show in netstat or ss command.

If not port, no connection.

We check:

firewall (is down)

SELinux (SELinux status:                 disabled)

Users is ok:

novlua:x:989:989:User created by NetIQ Identity Manager Installer:/home/users/novlua:/bin/bash
nds:x:988:987::/home/nds:/bin/bash

Some idea why the services can not establish the port?

Thanks,

please provide the startup sequence from the ndsd.log and the startup sequence from the message.log anonymized here.

a revert from a snapshot of a server with eDir can have very bad consequences for an NDS. I don't want to go into the details at this point because I had enough eDirs in the field that I had to spend a lot of time putting back into function due to snapshots. The eDir is a very robust directory service, but it also has its limits in terms of fault tolerance.

    Hi Georg.

I don't know whta happened, but I stop the services using systemctl and start the instance using ndsmanage and the services start whitout error.

    Look:

    [root@TMP309 ~]# systemctl status ndsdtmpl-etc-opt-novell-eDirectory-conf-nds.conf@-etc-opt-novell-eDirectory-conf-env.service

Iit it possible that if the instance is ACTIVE (ndsmanage) and try to start ndsdtmpl-etc-opt-novell-eDirectory-conf-nds.conf@-etc-opt-novell-eDirectory-conf-env.service show the error and can't establish the port?

    Thanks
