The State of Cybersecurity Today

The quick switch to remote working during the start of COVID in 2020 left a lot of companies exposed to cyber-attacks. Businesses experienced 50% more cyberattacks per week in 2021 compared to 2020. Cyber criminals were able to more nimbly switch tactics then larger organizations. As a result, working from home became a gateway to new forms of data theft. With remote workers going in and out of the network and using unsecured systems and the rise of ransomware, coupled with aggressive phishing campaigns, it’s no wonder security analyst in charge of protecting the org could not keep up.

 The year 2022 isn’t much better in terms of cyber-attacks. A recent report stated that Cybercriminals can penetrate 93 percent of company networks. Even more worrisome, many security executives say they’re unprepared for the threats that lie ahead.
