This KM described how to address the issue ArcSight LoadBalancer unable to start after upgraded from version 8.4.0 to version 8.4.6 and higher due to the node version mismatch.

Environment

ArcSight LoadBalancer 8.4.0 upgrade to 8.4.6 and higher
RHEL OS 8.8

Situation

ArcSight LoadBalancer upgraded from 8.4.0 to 8.4.6 successfully but the service unable to start.

The error message below occurs in the loadbalancer.log:

 [ERROR][hz.dreamy_hawking.generic-operation.thread-2][com.hazelcast.security][172.16.210.205]:6702 [dev] [5.3.7] Reason of failure for node join: Joining node's version 5.3.7 is not compatible with cluster version 5.1 (Rolling Member Upgrades are only supported for the same major version) (Rolling Member Upgrades are only supported in Hazelcast Enterprise)

 [ERROR][WrapperListener_start_runner][com.hazelcast.internal.cluster.impl.TcpIpJoiner][172.16.210.205]:6702 [dev] [5.3.7] Hazelcast instance is not active!
