Deprecated Bluetooth Method (Advanced Authentication 6.4 SP1): permanent or temporary?

Hi,

In NetIQ Advanced Authentication 6.4 Service Pack 1, the Bluetooth Method has been deprecated. I understand there are security issues with that, but we have waited with updating it, since a lot of our 4000 users use the Bluetooth method. Is this a permanent deprecation or is it temporarily removed to fix things, after which we can expect it back?
This method was one of the most user friendly options and made it a lot easier for us to get acceptance for the usage of MFA, so it would be disappointing to not see this option returning.

Thanks!

    Hello Michel,

It is not a temporary deprecation, that method will never come back but it will be replaced by a new method called Bluetooth eSec.

    Thanks.

    Hi Michel,

I will delete my previous response as it is not accurate. It is not a temporary deprecation, that method will never come back but it will be replaced by a new method called Bluetooth eSec.

I wanted to express that and not that the original method would be returned.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Thanks.
